Madge’s love letter defeat

MADONNA has lost a legal battle to block the sale of her underwear and a love letter from ex-boyfriend Tupac Shakur.

The star, 59, said she had not realised she no longer owned the items until a former assistant, Darlene Lutz, tried to sell them in an online auction. The 22 items included a brush with Madonna’s hair and a break-up letter from Tupac, the rapper who was shot dead in 1996 and whom she dated in secret.

Bidding on the 1995 letter had reached £71,000 in July last year before the singer filed a court order. But a New York judge threw out the lawsuit on Monday after hearing Madonna and Miss Lutz settled a legal dispute in 2004 which covered this case.
