HARRoDs has opened three fine wine and spirits rooms with bottles costing as much as £28,000 as it undergoes its biggest facelift in 180 years.

The renovation is part of the luxury department store’s £200m transforma­tion which will see it entirely redevelop 1m sq ft of shop space. It is the single biggest investment since Harrods, owned by private equity firm Qatar Holding, opened its doors in 1834. Aficionado­s will be able to get their hands on personalis­ed engraved bottles and advice on how to build their wine cellar collection, with bottles costing from £12 to £28,000.
