Limit the Lords
REMAINER MPs and the House of Lords are trying to make themselves the final arbiters on Brexit.
They argue that a Parliamentary majority represents the will of the people. But this is a distortion
of our democracy and parliamentary sovereignty.
With a single item vote expressed in a referendum, politicians’ opinions are irrelevant. They are duty bound to implement Brexit.
CRAIG O’VINNY, Wilmington, E. Sussex. IT IS high time the unelected, overpaid, elitist House of Lords was put out to grass.
The Lords have no regard for the people. A new second chamber of down-to- earth members, understanding the aims and wishes of voters, should replace this metropolitan, elitist bunch. CLAIRE BELLENIS,
Ossett, W. Yorks. THERE is no need to abolish the House of Lords. Reduce the daily allowance from £300 to £30. They will just vanish! FRANK JOHNSON, Houghton-le-Spring,
Tyne & Wear.
