BANKERS SHOWDOWN
CORPORATE raider Edward Bramson is due to hold crunch talks with Barclays boss Jes Staley after buying a 5.4pc stake in the bank.
A meeting between the lender’s management and the activist investor will be held in coming weeks.
The City has been rife with speculation over Bramson’s intentions since he bought into Barclays last month.
But Staley has come out swinging, and his cuts have saved the investment bank £95bn.
He said of the meeting: ‘We look forward to that dialogue, I’m sure it will be constructive.’
