WHAT HAS HE GOT?

THIS one is worth keeping an eye on. He grew in confidence as a recent game wore on. In a quiet first half playing as the second striker, he could not get enough touches. QPR were being dominated and the service was poor. He found it difficult to find space against an average but congested opposition midfield. Eze (right) spent most of the first half showing responsibility, running in between defenders trying to close people down and being frustrated. Twice he was inches away from getting a knock down from his centre forward. As the second half began he showed speed and was hauled down by a defender. Then there was a good leap but a mistimed header and a moment when he made an angle for a decent shot. Soon he picked up the ball on the halfway line, shielded and turned his marker and burst forward, releasing the ball at the perfect moment for a surging full back. He had sprung to life. After anticipating a perfect header from his strike partner he turned the ball into the net with his left foot.

WHAT DOES HE NEED?

THE more he plays the more he will adjust to the pace of the senior game. He looks a little coltish and was caught napping when he got into a good defensive position but lost his man completely when his eyes were transfixed on the ball. To his credit, he was covering for his left back at the time. Securing a regular place will help his confidence and might save QPR some transfer money in the long run. The club’s recent financial issues should result in an opportunity for younger players.
