TEACHER Gabrielle Long, 59, is hoping a school litter pick will offer her students a bit of light relief from their exams and provide an invaluable life lesson on the importance of recycling for future generations.

Gabrielle will take a group of 50 students from Seaton Sluice Middle School to clean up their nearby beach.

‘We gave them the option of Maths and Science or going to the beach,’ she says. ‘Which would you choose?’
