York’s 144-0 record romp

YORK broke rugby league records with their 144- 0 dismantling of West Wales in League 1.

York surpassed the 142-4 highest winning score set by Huddersfield against Blackpool Gladiators in 1994, which was also the widest winning margin.

York ran in 25 tries, including seven for on-loan full-back Kieren Moss.

In the Betfred Super League, Leeds beat Hull KR 20- 18 at KCOM Craven Park.

The victory moved Leeds up to fifth, though coach Brian McDermott was not satisfied, saying: ‘We need to come here and win by a better margin than the two points.’
