Kane blasts ‘silly’ FA tweet

- ADAM CRAFTON

HARRY KANE believes a tweet sent from a Football Association account mocking his FA Cup semi-final performance against Manchester United was ‘silly’ and questioned whether any other country would undermine its stars. The tweet asked United defender Chris Smalling: ‘What’s in your pocket?’ and included a clip of Smalling replying: ‘Harry Kane.’ The Tottenham striker said: ‘The FA tweet was a silly tweet. We all know that. I talked to the gaffer (Mauricio Pochettino) about it and all we said was, “Would other countries do that to their players?” Probably not. It is something that has gone. I am over it.’ Kane has also being criticised for an appeal to the Premier League to claim a goal against Stoke in his bid to catch Liverpool’s Mo Salah in the race for the Golden Boot. Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren even had a dig at Kane yesterday, calling him Mr ‘Touch’ in a response on Instagram to Salah’s award-winning season.
