Doctor: Trump told me what to write in his medical report
DONALD Trump’s former doctor has said the US President dictated his own medical report, describing his health as ‘astonishingly excellent’.
Dr Harold Bornstein admitted he did not write the December 2015 letter attributed to him, in which the thenpresidential candidate’s physical condition was excessively praised.
The letter said: ‘If elected, Mr Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.’
A few weeks before its release, Mr Trump, pictured, tweeted that the medical report would show ‘perfection’.
‘I am fortunate to have been blessed with great genes,’ said Mr Trump, who at 70 became the oldest president to be elected in US history.
Dr Bornstein’s statement also claimed that Mr Trump’s blood pressure was ‘astonishingly excellent’, while his cardiovascular health was also ‘ excellent’. His physical strength and stamina were described as ‘extraordinary’. He was said to have lost 15lbs (7kg) over the course of a year.
In an interview with CNN, the President’s longtime former personal physician said: ‘He dictated that whole letter. I didn’t write that letter. I just made it up as I went along.’
Dr Bornstein also said a Trump bodyguard ‘raided’ his New York office last year and confiscated the President’s medical records. ‘They must have been here for 25 or 30 minutes. It created a lot of chaos,’ Dr Bornstein said. The incident made him feel ‘raped, frightened and sad,’ he said.
Dr Bornstein said the original and only copies of Mr Trump’s medical charts were taken. White House spokesman Sarah Sanders said the incident was ‘standard procedure’.
