REMADE in 2010 by the Coen brothers, this is Henry Hathaway’s original, starring John Wayne as one-eyed lawman Rooster Cogburn. It’s a beautifull­y filmed revenge western in which Cogburn is hired by 14-year-old Mattie (Kim Darby) to avenge the murder of her father.

FOOTBALL Atletico Madrid v Arsenal, 7.30pm, BT Sport 2

THE first leg of their Europa League semi-final was a missed opportunit­y for Arsenal after they conceded an 82nd-minute equaliser despite playing against ten men for 80 minutes. Can the Gunners defy the odds and get to the final in Lyon?

TRUE-ISH TALE Urban Myths, 9pm, Sky Arts

ROCKER Alice Cooper and surrealist Salvador Dali (Noel Fielding and David Suchet, pictured) compete to see who is the greatest artist in this latest comic recreation of true events. What happens between them is weird in a tedious art student sort of way — what’ss far more interestin­g is Sheila Hancock as Dali’s unpredicta­ble wife.

SPY ACTION Deep State, 9pm, Fox

IF YOU’VE found the recent season of Homeland a little on the silly side, this tough British thriller is a good alternativ­e. Tonight, Max is pushed over the edge when the loathsome George makes a move on his family. Surely, that twofaced desk jockey has just signed his own death warrant?

NEW U.S. SITCOM Let’s Get Physical, 9.30pm, E4

JANE SEYMOUR (pictured with Matt Jones) is the best reason to watch this fasttalkin­g but wafer-thin new comedy about a curious inheritanc­e request. She plays the mum of a tubby rocker (Jones) who returns home after his dad dies and learns he must dedicate his life to aerobics to receive $8 million from the will.

POLITICAL DRAMA Scandal, 10pm, Sky Living

IT’S past its best, but if you’ve ever enjoyed this full-throttle political thriller, this is the penultimat­e episode, and the show’s many plot threadst are starting to be pulled tight. Liv and Mellie are answering hard questions tonight, and Liv’s choices will have huge consequenc­es — there is no other kind in ScandalS — for everyone else.

FILM SATIRE Austin Found, 10.10pm, Sky Premiere

THIS black comedy might be in too poor taste for some. It follows an ambitious mother who has her beauty contestant daughter kidnapped — for the publicity. Linda Cardellini stars.

HIT MAN Barry, 10.45pm, Sky Atlantic

OUR assassin who wants to be an actor tries to put his past behind him in part two of HBO’s comedy, but his past comes knocking, straps him to a chair and demands he kill again. This episode reveals a sillier streak than the opener and gives more room for Henry Winkler to shine as Barry’s crazy acting teacher.
