Fellaini warns United he might walk away

- CHRIS WHEELER

THE future of Marouane Fellaini remains undecided in spite of manager Jose Mourinho saying the belgian is close to agreeing new terms at Manchester united.

Fellaini, 30, feels united blundered by not offering him a deal sooner and says they could regret it if he leaves as a free agent next month.

‘ The entire staff is doing everything to make me stay,’ said Fellaini. ‘I am in a strong position, especially as Mourinho stated that he wants to keep me. Last year I went to the coach and said I wanted a new contract. I then had a second meeting but I will not ask 10 times.’

Fellaini is demanding a twoyear deal at least but united have offered only one with the option of a further 12 months.

Team-mate Anthony Martial is desperate to play more but the 22-year-old has not developed as well as Mourinho had hoped in the wide role he has been given this season.

Mourinho is ready to use him more as a central striker next season if the Frenchman stays but his representatives have so far turned down the new terms on offer.
