Those losing their hair attract 9 per cent fewer responses than clean-shaven men boasting full heads of hair. Model Ben Southerst, 29, registered on the Tinder dating app with five different looks. He posted his first profile with a full head of hair and goatee beard.
He then made digital alterations to the picture and posted four profiles with different looks, ranging from a heavy beard to clean shaven, and thinning hair to completely bald. Mr Southerst, who carried out the experiment for Crown Clinic in Manchester, got 120 matches for the cleanshaven look, 8 for his goatee beard, 30 for the heavy beard, 12 for thinning hair, and just three for the bald look.
