Kate shows bare faced cheek

-

AFTER years of wearing plunge front, plunge back, plunge side and plunge-plunge on the red carpet, St Kate of Winslet now wants younger starlets to cover up.

Perhaps she could stand at the end of the awards show carpet and issue saucy culprits with modesty ponchos, like the Catholic school in Detroit that has clamped down on revealing outfits for its prom dance?

Honestly, Kate. What a ruddy nude-y nerve. In her three decades of film hits, Reading-born Kate has frequently been seen full frontal, full bottom and hardly ever not nippled.

But, of course, she reasons her kind of bare-cheeked display was different, because it was in the Name Of Art.

When she turned up to the Hollywood premiere of Titanic in 1997, Kate wore a green dress so tight it must have been stitched onto her body on the in-breath.

U.S. feminist author Camille Paglia took one look and said: ‘Anyone with those floaters doesn’t need a lifeboat.’

She wasn’t shy about emphasising her assets then. And she is an incredibly talented actress who always looks like a goddess in her Hollywood gowns.

That is why, at the age of 42, Kate should be a little less sanctimonious and hypocritical about lesser talents who try to attract attention in old-fashioned ways.
