Holiday rip-off

-

AS A teacher, I am unable to take time off other than school holidays and do not like my children having time off school. For next February’s half-term, I booked a chalet to take my family skiing in France. But I was shocked when I tried to book flights.

For two adults, a teenager and a child, return flights with a budget airline to Geneva would cost £2,382. Two weeks earlier it would cost just £168.

I have to face parents who can only afford to take their children on holiday in term time. Instead of fining parents for this, something needs to change. It’s about time holiday companies charged a fairer price for families.
