TOUGHEN UP

Tender plants must be toughened up before moving permanently outdoors. If yours are in a greenhouse, harden them off for a couple of weeks.

The simplest method is to stand pots or trays in a sheltered, but sunny, corner. Have fleece ready to lay over them each evening. remove it each morning. repeat for a week. For their second week, leave the plants uncovered unless temperatures fall to 5c.
