Klopp: Chelsea are priority

- By DOMINIC KING

JURGEN KLOPP has insisted Liverpool’s clash with Chelsea is the club’s main focus and believes another top-four finish would be a ‘massive’ feat.

For all the excitement generated by Liverpool’s run to the Champions League final, Klopp’s mind is on Stamford Bridge tomorrow.

Liverpool have not had back-toback finishes in the top four for a decade but a point today will see them back at Europe’s top table.

Klopp said: ‘The most important game is Chelsea. It would be massive to finish in the top four. It was the main target at the start of the season. You want to be champions but it was clear after a few months that was not possible. The target is qualifying for the Champions League.’

The game sees the return to Chelsea of Mo Salah, who has been named both the PFA and Football Writers’ player of the year.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was keen to assert that he played no role in the decision to sell him to Roma in August 2016.

Conte said: ‘My decision? No, no, no. No one asked me about him. If you put this on me, I’m in trouble. Put that on the person who has to take the responsibility.’
