Labour’s chilling hero

FROM Stalin’s Soviet Union and Mao’s China to Pol Pot’s Cambodia, disciples of Karl Marx have killed an estimated 96million people, making his ideology the most genocidal in history.

Meanwhile, his economic theories have spread misery and famine wherever they’ve been tried – while the capitalism he attacked has lifted billions out of poverty.

Yet on the 200th anniversary of Marx’s birth, Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell has hailed the co-author of the Communist Manifesto as a ‘force for change today’, while celebrating this declared champion of ‘revolutionary terror’ as a major influence on Labour’s current thinking.

It is nothing less than chilling that such a dangerous fool may stand just one election away from running the British economy. Do Tory Remoaners really love Brussels so much that this is what they’re prepared to risk?
