ANYONE who watched series two of Peter Kay’s awardwinning comedy last year will remember the emotionally charged cliffhanger with which it ended, as Kayleigh (Sian Gibson) opened her heart to John (Kay, pictured with Gibson), only to be cruelly spurned. Fans were crestfallen when Kay said he had no plans for a third series — an online petition asking for a conclusion received more than 100,000 signatures. In response, this fully improvised episode airs ahead of a brand new series finale, to be shown on May 28, the next Bank Holiday Monday. Will the supermarket workers finally realise they were made for each other?
