in line in Tesco on Sunday evening, I noticed a fracas at one of the tills. A woman in a pink tank top and cycling shorts was arguing vociferously with the sales assistant. The cause of her outrage? They had run out of Pimm’s. Oh, to be in England now that summer’s here . . .
