Musk’s £7m stake

-

TESLA boss Elon Musk has spent £7.3m bulking up his stake in his company days after he taunted short sellers.

The electric car company’s chief executive bought 33,000 shares on Monday, bringing his holding to nearly 20pc of the firm.

Musk, 46, recently promised ‘carnage’ for short sellers after they bet that Tesla’s share price will fall. The company’s stock is one of the most shorted in the US, as it struggles with manufacturing troubles.

On Saturday, Musk tweeted: ‘Short burn of the century comin [sic] soon,’ adding: ‘If you’re short, I suggest tiptoeing quietly to the exit.’
