Get cocaine online faster than a pizza

-

DRUG users can now get cocaine delivered more quickly in Britain than a pizza, a study has found.

More than a third of 1,500 people surveyed in England and Scotland said they could get wraps of the Class A narcotic on their doorstep within half an hour.

Dealers are turning to rapid home delivery to ‘beat their competition in customer service’ after users started buying illicit substances on the ‘dark web’ – which mirrors the normal internet but allows users to hide their identity.

Some 36.8 per cent of people questioned in England said they could get cocaine within 30 minutes, and 37.4 per cent in Scotland – placing them fifth and sixth in the world rankings. By comparison, only 12.2 per cent in England and 19.8 per cent in Scotland said they could get a pizza delivered in this time.

The report by the Global Drug Survey, an independent research firm, said: ‘With many cities covered with CCTV cameras, street dealing is becoming less attractive to many suppliers and consumers. On the other hand, dark-net markets allow drugs to be delivered through your letterbox and the rise of encrypted social media platforms makes ordering relatively safe.’

Its researchers, who quizzed 15,000 cocaine users worldwide, predicted a surge in ‘sophisticated and rapid drug delivery services’ in many of Britain’s big cities.
