Going public, Norton and his latest leading lady
RUMOURS of a romance began after they were spotted kissing in London on a Christmas shopping trip.
Now Grantchester star James Norton and new girlfriend Imogen Poots have made their first public appearance as a couple.
They posed for pictures and seemed besotted with each other at the Grey Goose party for the European premiere of Wildlife at the Cannes Film Festival. Sources said they ‘barely spoke to anyone else all night’ as, deep in conversation, they sipped their cocktails.
Norton, 32, began dating Miss Poots, 28, when they were appearing on stage in Belleville at the Donmar Warehouse in London.
He had just split from Jessie Buckley, his War And Peace co-star, after two years. Norton, who is tipped to become the next James Bond, recently starred in international crime drama McMafia, which is to return for a second series.
Next month he begins filming the fourth series of Grantchester, which will be his last as crime-fighting clergyman Sidney Chambers.
He will also be seen in Gareth Jones, a thriller about a British journalist investigating a famine in the Stalin-era Soviet Union.
Wildlife, a family drama set in 1960s Montana, is directed by Paul Dano, who appeared with Norton in War And Peace. It stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan.
