MO: I PROVED YOU WRONG
HIGH-FLYER Mohamed Salah added more individual gongs to his growing collection by dominating Liverpool’s end-of-season awards — then hopped on a plane to London to receive his Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year trophy. The 43-goal forward, who has lit up the Premier League this season after flopping here in 2014, said in London last night: ‘From the day I left Chelsea I wanted to prove people wrong. Everyone said I wasn’t good enough. I proved them wrong.’ The Egypt forward scooped the Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season at Anfield (left) and also won the PFA prize last month.
