£469,000 FOR SACKED BOSS

-

FORMER AA boss Bob Mackenzie was paid nearly £500,000 for six months’ work before he was sacked for punching a colleague during a company away day.

He was dismissed at the start of August after a fracas with Mike Lloyd, the insurance head, at a hotel in Surrey. Although Mackenzie, 65, was not given a bonus, he still earned £469,000, down from £1.4m the previous year. He is suing the AA for £220m in lost bonus payments.

Successor Simon Breakwell, 52, will not be entitled to the same bonuses. He is paid a base salary of £700,000 – £50,000 less than his predecessor.
