GARETH SOUTHGATE will name England’s 2018 World Cup squad on Wednesday, well before the official deadline. FIFA do not require finalised squads until June 4 but Southgate (right) wants his plans in place before the friendlies against Nigeria and Costa Rica, so names his 23-man group on May 16. Brazil’s Dani Alves is out of the World Cup with a cruciate-ligament injury that needs surgery.
