Jagger’s day out in Ireland ... with a Guinness, of course

- By Fionn Hargreaves

HE has been hard at work rehearsing for the Rolling Stones’ latest tour. But yesterday Sir Mick Jagger took some time off, sipping what appeared to be a half-pint of Guinness as he watched an international cricket match in Ireland. The 74-year-old singer looked in good spirits as he enjoyed the country’s first ever test match, against Pakistan, at Malahide, north of Dublin. Sir Mick, who is a keen cricket supporter, wore a blue camouflage print baseball cap, sunglasses and a grey varsity jacket to watch the action unfold. His girlfriend Melanie Hamrick, 31, is believed to have travelled to Ireland with the couple’s 17-monthold son Deveraux, but was not seen at the cricket ground. The Stones arrived in Ireland last week to rehearse for their No Filter tour, which is due to begin at Croke Park in Dublin on Thursday.
