BIG SAM ‘NOT CONFIDENT’ ABOUT HIS JOB

- KIERAN GILL

SAM ALLARDYCE admitted his Everton future is far from certain after defeat at the London Stadium. The 63-year-old saw his team comfortably beaten by former club West Ham and afterwards said he could not be confident of being in charge next year. Allardyce, who faces crunch talks with owner Farhad Moshiri, said: ‘I can’t quite say I’m confident after all the rumours I’m reading because, generally, there is no smoke without fire is there? We will wait and see when we meet up this week.’ Everton were without Wayne Rooney for their final game of a poor season as the 32-year-old weighs up a move to MLS side DC United. ‘It’s up to Wayne, his representatives and the board of directors and what they do, which is where it is at the moment,’ Allardyce said. ‘Everybody will know by the end of the week, and just to stop people talking and writing nonsense, there is no problem between me and Wayne Rooney. We’ve been very professional and very adult with our conversations.’ David Moyes’ contract with West Ham officially expired at midnight last night and he will meet with co-chairman David Sullivan this week.
