Blow for Gerrard
STEVEN GERRARD, who takes over as Rangers boss on June 1, missed the club’s final Scottish Premiership game of the season at Easter Road, where Hibernian fought back for a 5-5 draw that left Rangers third behind Aberdeen. Rangers had to better Aberdeen’s result at Celtic Park to claim second but Andrew Considine’s secondhalf strike ensured Derek McInnes’s side finished runners-up for a fourth consecutive season. Hibs led 3-0 against Rangers, who then scored five unanswered goals before Jamie Maclaren completed a hat-trick for a draw. The result means Gerrard must plan for a July 12 start to Europa League qualifying with Rangers.
