Kate’s favourite designer tells 50-somethings to be bolder

THE Duchess of Cambridge’s favourite designer Jenny Packham claims women in their 50s should be more indulgent with fashion.

‘Women I know in their 50s have kids leaving home and they’ve got more time to themselves,’ Packham, 53, tells me at The Ivy Chelsea Garden Summer Party. ‘Before, I wasn’t thinking about what I was wearing, I was just thinking about everybody else. Your 50s are a time to turn your thoughts to yourself.’

The designer, who has two children with husband Matthew Anderson, also rubbishes the idea that women should cover up. ‘There’s nothing wrong with wearing mini-skirts if you feel comfortable in them.’
