Avocado is on the menu

PatIssERIE Valerie will start selling avocado on toast in a bid to lure in young spenders.

the cafe chain, which opened ten stores in the six months to March 31, will flog the dish for £6.75, or £7.25 at its London shops.

Bosses have also launched a rotating ‘slice of the month’ feature to hook customers with a sweeter tooth, which will offer limited edition flavours such as lemon and raspberry.

Revenues rose to £60.5m in the period, up 9.1pc on a year earlier, while profits were up 14.2pc at £11.1m. the company has 206 stores across the country.

It hiked its interim dividend by 20pc to 1.44p per share.
