Why lonely Mariella is begging chums to visit

HUSKY-VOICED Mariella Frostrup admits she’s begging her female friends to move in with her and her husband, human rights lawyer Jason McCue, after her menage a trois recently came to an end.

‘My best friend who was living with us left, she went back to Florence, but she might be coming back in a month — I’m really hoping so, because it’s very lonely without her,’ the 55- year- old mother- of-two tells me. ‘My life is bereft. I want her back.

‘ I’ve been trying to encourage other female friends to come and live with me in her absence.

‘But most of them are married with children and they keep going: “It’s not convenient.” ’

And what is the secret to her 15-year marriage? ‘Compromise, compromise, compromise!’
