Graves’ Hundred error

-

IT HAS emerged that BBC Two have already agreed to clear their early evening schedules on Thursday nights for their few live Hundred games starting in 2020. This type of commitment suggests hapless England Cricket Board chairman Colin Graves should have sold the entire tournament to terrestrial TV, as was the original plan, rather than mainly take Sky’s money. Full free-to-air coverage for the Hundred would have helped redress the balance from the ECB selling all live domestic Test cricket to Sky — the overriding reason why beleaguered Graves says the sport no longer attracts young people.

THE walk up Wembley Way before the FA Cup final tomorrow should be a sublime experience for all fans. Instead, the approach to the ground is a complete eyesore. The arch is surrounded by huge cranes as Quintain’s property development work continues on ugly building sites right up to the concourse. Perhaps the FA’s plan to sell the ground was not such a bad idea after all.
