Sister’s blast at Palace over missing dad

- By Sam Greenhill and Neil Sears

THE ‘ Markle debacle’ continued yesterday as the bride’s dysfunctional family sparked fresh dramas.

Meghan’s half-sister Samantha Markle launched a blistering attack on Kensington Palace, while also reportedly suffering a broken ankle and knee in an unfortunate car incident with paparazzi in Florida where she lives.

Half-brother Thomas Markle Jr has been in Windsor posing for photos at the castle and confessing to a ‘moment of madness’ when he recently penned an open letter to Prince Harry urging him to call off the wedding.

And meanwhile the Dooley clan – Meghan’s former sister-in-law Tracy Dooley and her grown-up sons Tyler and Thomas – were at a loose end after being dumped as wedding commentators by ITV show Good Morning Britain which had flown them to the UK. The broadcaster is said to have ditched the idea after apparently fearing being a party to stoking the family feud.

Instead the Dooleys have apparently been trying to promote their ‘Markle Sparkle’ brand of cannabis. Tyler, 25, runs a legal cannabis farm in America. The soap opera starring Meghan’s estranged relatives – none of whom she has invited to the wedding – took a series of twists yesterday.

Samantha Markle, 53, who has multiple sclerosis, hit out at Kensington Palace for not helping her and Meghan’s father Thomas after his heart attack, claiming she had to send him money. Dismissing reports that Kensington Palace had offered support for her father in Mexico, she claimed: ‘That is not true or he would not have been living in his place, he’d have a reliable vehicle, he’d have security.’

Her boyfriend Mark Phillips told American website TMZ she broke her ankle and fractured a knee during a car crash on Wednesday evening.

He had been behind the wheel and was apparently trying to avoid a photographer’s car that had veered in front of them to take pictures. However, last night Florida highway patrol told DailyMail.com they could find no record of the crash.

Meanwhile in Windsor, Thomas Markle Jr, 51, told the Daily Mirror that Kensington Palace should have offered more guidance to the US family.

Two weeks ago, while at ‘breaking point’, he wrote an open letter telling Harry: ‘This is the biggest mistake in Royal Wedding history’.
