Biamou double sees off unlucky Notts

COVENTRY are heading to Wembley in controvers­ial circumstan­ces after two major decisions went against Kevin Nolan’s Notts team. County suffered from a terrible penalty call in the first leg and lost an equaliser last night after an incorrect offside call. Coventry then scored a decisive third despite twice being offside in the build-up. Perhaps Coventry earned the right to face Exeter on Monday week through ambitious play. For periods they showed a flair deserving of a higher division. They took a spectacula­r lead after six minutes. Jordan Willis headed Liam Kelly’s corner back into the danger area and Max Biamou reacted with an overhead kick into the corner.

Marc McNulty added another in the 37th minute. Tom Bayliss teed up Kelly on the overlap and he cut the ball back perfectly to McNulty, who powered in his 28th goal of the season.
