Open and shut case

UNLIKE millennials, I’ve had no problem in opening Fray Bentos tinned pies (Mail).

When our two children were young, we would scrimp and save to afford a one-week holiday in a caravan in Skegness.

We’d travel there by train, with my husband carrying two suitcases, one of which would be extremely heavy.

This was because throughout the year I had squirrelled away an item of food each week, including tinned pies, so we wouldn’t have to buy food in the holiday resort. My children still have fond memories of Fray Bentos.
