YOGI KENDAL’S TIPS ON STAYING EVERGREEN AT 71

EVERGREEN actress Felicity Kendal, best known for her role as self-sufficiency enthusiast Barbara Good in the Seventies sitcom The Good Life, extols the virtues of doing yoga in her back garden. ‘I’m not one of those Ashtanga experts that wraps their legs round their head, but I have found peace and solitude outside,’ says the 71-year-old at the Chelsea Flower Show. ‘I don’t need to go to a gym. Beautiful flowers — roses, daffodils, tulips — I love them all. ‘I’m fed up with this social media society. We all need to calm down.’ Other guests at the Chelsea Flower Show included Dame Darcey Bussell, 49, (top right) who cut a dash sporting a matching wicker hat, basket and pair of wedges with a black patterned dress. While shy and retiring actress Su Pollard (right) opted for an extravagant floral headpiece and handbag.
