Trump wants a star golf buddy on his UK visit

-

DONALD Trump plans to extend his trip to Britain in July to three days so he can play golf with a celebrity sportsman and celebrate the two nations’ close ties on defence.

The US President could also be taken on a private tour of the Churchill War Rooms in Whitehall, London, in recognition of his admiration for the wartime leader. Other options include tea with the Queen and talks with Prime Minister Theresa May at either Downing Street or Chequers, her country retreat outside London.

It is also understood Mr Trump, pictured, who arrives on Friday, July 12 – is keen on a state visit rather than a working visit, but that has been put back until next year at the earliest.

On the Saturday, he hopes to play a round of golf at one of his two Scottish courses in Aberdeenshire and Ayrshire, accompanied by a celebrity.
