-

LIVERPOOL legend Terry McDermott’s three European Cup winners’ medals sold for £32,500 at auction yesterday. At Sotheby’s New Bond Street Salesroom in London, 41 items were sold to raise £99,640 which McDermott (right) intends to use to help his children get on to the property ladder, as revealed by Sportsmail yesterday. The most expensive sales were the European medals, topped by the £12,000 memento of Liverpool’s maiden win in 1977. The 1978 medal sold for £9,500, and the prize won in 1981 against Real Madrid went for £11,000. Meanwhile, Liverpool and Roma have been charged by UEFA for crowd disturbances outside Anfield before their Champions League semi-final first leg last month. Liverpool also face charges of setting off fireworks and throwing objects during the 5-2 victory in a case to be heard next Thursday.
