NEVER one to keep a low profile, Rod Stewart clearly decided he’d say it with flowers when he met the Pope yesterday.

But if Pope Francis thought Sir Rod’s startling floral shirt clashed with his paisley suit and £765 furtrimmed Gucci slippers, he kept it to himself. In a show of piety, the Scottish rocker, 73, did wear a crucifix for the encounter in Vatican City during a holiday in Rome with his wife, Penny Lancaster, 47.
