NOW WHERE DID I LEAVE THEM?

I thought I’d left them on the bus But the bus driver said ‘No’, Or maybe at the theatre When I saw that musical show. I’ve been searching here and searching there But to no avail And even searched the proverbial Over hill and dale! I am getting a little worried now That should they materialise It’s been so long since I lost them They’ll be hard to recognise! But I have to be quite positive So I printed a bold ‘Lost’ sign And stuck it on the lamp-post Saying: ‘If you find them, they’re mine!’ But after many false alarms Around the neighbourhood I have to face the bitter fact That my marbles have gone for good!
