1,000 Liverpool fans have Kiev flights cancelled

A THOUSAND Liverpool fans were facing Champions League final heartbreak last night after three flights to Kiev were cancelled at the last minute. Two flights from Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport and another from Manchester were set to take fans to Ukraine for tomorrow’s match against Real Madrid. Last night, Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson tweeted that he was ‘working closely’ with Vitali Klitschko, mayor of Kiev and brother of former heavyweigh­t boxing world champion Wladimir — and that a solution was close. Meanwhile, footage last night emerged of Liverpool fans being attacked by hooligans in a restaurant in Kiev.
