Climbing sales boost

MOUNTAIN Warehouse has defied high street gloom with soaring annual sales.

The outdoors retailer increased sales by 22pc in the year to February 25, up from £ 184.8m to £ 225.3m – a like- for- like sales growth of 14pc.

Earnings before interest, tax and depreciation leapt 30.4pc to £32.6m.

Online sales account for a quarter of business.
