will take a second crack at Zola Budd’s 33-year-old British mile record during the Anniversar­y Games at the London Stadium on July 22. The Scot, 25, ran 4hr 18min 03sec — less than half of a second slower than Budd’s mark of 4:17.57 — at the same event last year. Muir has become to a full-time athlete after completing studies to become a vet. ‘The mile has a special place in British distance running history,’ she said. ‘So it’s super we are getting a chance to race the mile. I am looking to win, but if I can break the British record that would be fantastic. It would be fitting in a year in which we lost Sir Roger Bannister.’
