SARRI SET TO BECOME NEW CHELSEA BOSS
MAURIZIO SARRI is in pole position to become Chelsea’s next manager. Sportsmail understands the two parties will talk about former Napoli manager Sarri (below), taking over from Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge. Conte’s future remains unresolved despite the fact both manager and club want a parting of the ways this summer. Conte has 12 months left on his near £9million-per-season deal and wants Chelsea to pay him up in full. Sarri, 59, left his role at Napoli this week, replaced by former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, leaving him free to move to London. SIR Alex Ferguson wrote to England’s oldest living international Ivor Broadis after reading an interview with the 95-year-old in Sportsmail in March. Ferguson later suffered a brain haemorrhage and is currently in recovery. Broadis was thrilled when the letter arrived. ‘Looking at your photo in the Mail you are looking well and I wish you many more years of good health and happiness. ‘You were truly one of the great players of the English game,’ it read.
