Rose matches Faldo record

-

JUSTIN ROSE equalled Sir Nick Faldo’s record of nine victories on the US Tour last night when he ran away with the Fort Worth Invitational in Texas. The 37-year-old Englishman shot a final round of 64 to win by three shots from American Brooks Koepka. Emiliano Grillo of Argentina was a further shot back. Rose was on fire on the front nine, carding no fewer than six birdies. He picked up another shot at the par-five 11th, where an exquisite wedge left him with a 3ft birdie putt, and then holed a 20ft putt at the par-four 15th to stand on the 18th tee four shots clear. A bogey five saw him finish on 20 under. ‘I’m delighted the way I played this week, said Rose. ‘I am speechless to be honest. To win on a course like Colonial, I couldn’t be more proud.’ Scotland’s Russell Knox tied for 20th after a 69.
