The perfect (recyclable) pint

-

AT LAST, a guilt-free pint of beer. I was served this recyclable plastic cup by Harveys Brewery of Lewes, East Sussex, on a visit to the Bluebell Railway. The beer was good, too! MIKE HoWELL, Folkestone, Kent. WHY does every council seem to have different rules for what plastics can and can’t be recycled?

Nottinghamshire only recycles a limited selection of what should be recyclable plastic: yes to drinks bottles and other plastic containers such as butter and yoghurt tubs, but no to caps and lids. All other plastic has to be put in the general waste bin.

Local authorities should be obliged to collect all recyclable plastic and deal with it. ANDY WARREN, Loughborough.
