Cut NHS waste

-

I agrEE with extra taxation to pay for the NHS. However, I would like to see the following put in place first: cut out waste; negotiate better prices for medicines; and ensure health tourists pay up front.

BETTE SPrY, Highcliffe-on-Sea, Dorset. I COULDN’T believe my eyes: ‘Household tax bills need to rise by £2,000 to save NHS (Mail).’ Let’s see the penpushers take a pay cut first. NEVILLE WITHErS,

London W3. THE suggested £2,000 levy to bring the NHS to the standards we want and deserve will put the burden squarely on the shoulders of those who are always targeted to pay more.

Those living on benefits won’t be paying, nor foreign visitors who abuse our system. Taxpayers are the sitting ducks who will be expected to foot the bill. a simple solution would be to reduce the foreign aid budget and use it to make up the NHS shortfall. Mrs A. SMITH, Croydon, Surrey.
