HASTE HILL and Carus Green had to work hard to book their spots in the fourth round of the Daily

Mail Foursomes, with both clubs winning sudden-death play-offs. Liam Cella and Steve Brownsea from Haste Hill were pushed hard by Batchworth Park’s Seb Myers and Richard Murray, who won the last three holes to walk off the 18th green all square. But the home pair held on to take victory at the fourth extra hole with their par. Carus Green’s Margaret Bebington and Ali Dufty won their tie at Morecambe at the third extra hole. ‘We don’t make it easy for ourselves,’ said Bebington after beating Sue Greenwood and Helen Snowball. The last 16 men’s and women’s pairs will battle it out at Marriott St Pierre in October.
