Bookie bets on US

WILLIAM Hill will start taking sports bets in an ocean-front casino in the US following a landmark ruling to legalise sports gambling in the state of New Jersey.

The betting giant has shelled out £4.5m for space in Atlantic City’s Ocean Resort Casino, opening next month.

William Hill entered the US market in 2012 and has a presence in Las Vegas. Its launch into New Jersey comes after the US Supreme Court overturned a 25year-old ban on sports betting in the state.
