Phew... that’s a very long-haul

-

THE world’s longest commercial flight route – from New York to Singapore – will be launched in October.

The non-stop trip will cover 9,500 miles – beating Doha in Qatar to Auckland, New Zealand, which is 9,025 miles. The UK’s longest is 9,009 miles to Perth, Australia.

Singapore Airlines had suspended the New York route in 2013 because of high costs, but the new Airbus A350-900ULR is more fuel efficient. The airline says the plane is also more comfortable – luckily for any passengers choosing to settle in for the 18 hour and 45 minute flight.
